Here’s a pretty cool video of young meets old. Really good melding of the two styles.
Here’s a project that I’m supporting through Kickstarter that I may end up doing music work for. Looks to be a very promising and interesting documentary!
Looking forward to working with them. I’ll let you all know if and how it pans out. Check them out here on Kickstarter: THE UNKNOWNS – DOCUMENTARY
Comedy short I composed music for. Lucas Morgan Scott directing.
Opening title sequence I composed for a web series called SEARCHING for Lucas Morgan Scott.
Promotional video for Pitzer College using parts of my track, Heist and Fight – along with some custom arrangement ideas.
You’ll see Auh-nuld (Arnold schwarzenegger) at 1:22 signing a bill into law!
Drawing string automation in Logic is easy. The trick to using this method effectively is using automation CURVES and not automation TRIANGLES. I show the technique being used in the video.
In addition to standard volume automation, some virtual instruments (here I’m using Symphobia) have programmed patches for changing dynamics of the samples using the modulation wheel of your MIDI keyboard (CC7, with volume being controlled by CC11). Using both of those curves at the same time, with automation curves that are very similar but not necessarily identical you will get a professional bowed-string sound of the orchestra. Of course, this only applies for single-note lines because of sample-stacking. That’s another story for another day.
How do you use automation in your string compositions?
